Latest Updates from Our Project:

ONE WEEK LEFT + Bookmark Reveal!
over 1 year ago – Tue, May 23, 2023 at 03:25:09 PM

What's up, monkey friends?

(We mean "monkey friends" as in "friends of monkeys." Not that you are monkeys. Of course.)

There's just ONE WEEK remaining in this epic campaign of hilarious bananas-ness. Can you believe it?

Now seems like a great time to reveal…

YOUR FREE BOOKMARK!

When we passed $1,500 in funding, we unlocked a FREE BOOKMARK to ship with every paperback copy of Monkey Maids…and now the design is ready!

As we discussed in a previous update, the monkeys in this story are partial to a certain cheese-flavored treat called Cheez-Noms.

So, naturally, our bookmarks celebrate that fact…along with the deliciously orange goodness of Cheez-Noms!

Every paperback copy of Monkey Maids we ship at the end of this campaign will come with one of these bookmarks—totally free!

So be sure you've got a paperback in your order, and add one to your cart if you don't!

Speaking of Cheez-Noms…

We're giving away a 20" x 8" x 8" Cheez-Noms pillow at the end of the campaign!

Mmm, cheezy pillow goodness!

It's just one of the three prizes we're giving away!

Another one is an original painting of YOUR favorite monkey, created just for you by Yukidogzombie!

Here's a peek at some monkey art she's creating now!

We're also giving away a bundle of signed Oneshi Press books!

Here's how to enter…

Just leave a comment on the Comments Page of our Kickstarter campaign.

  • Tell us what you love most about Monkey Maids, and
  • Write #MonkeyBiz at the end of your comment!

That's it! You're entered to win!

You do not have to back the campaign to win.

If you are a backer, we'll give you extra entries that match the level you backed at. (For example: A Level 3 backer will get 1 entry for their comment + 3 extras for their pledge, for 4 entries total.)

See you in the comments!

Here's Another Campaign We Love…

Lucifer Licorice

We love this comic from one of our favorite indie writers, Russell Nohelty, and the absolutely amazing Angela Oddling…and we think you will, too! (We've already pledged!)

After being transformed into a licorice monster by a candy witch, Lucifer Licorice sets off on an epic quest to get his old life back. Along the way, he travels through the kingdom with his tea towel ghost companion Moober encountering weird monsters trying to gobble him up, fighting against emo-demons determined to tear him down, and traveling into the bowels of heck itself learning the error of his ways so he can stop being so bitter and be transformed back into his old body.

62 Backers = 62 Trees🌳
over 1 year ago – Sun, May 21, 2023 at 02:11:16 PM

Hey there, monkey fans!

First of all, thank you SO MUCH for being a supporter of Monkey Maids! We absolutely love this story, and we're so glad you do, too! Can't wait to get it into your hands!

Now that there are 62 of you here, it seems like a good time to talk about these trees we're planting together!

So far, we've got 62 trees in the works…minimum. We know that a lot of you have opted to plant extra trees with your pledges, which is awesome, but we haven't counted them up yet. We'll give you the final count after the campaign ends.

But, you might be asking yourself…

 🌳Why Trees?🌳

Well, of course, trees are home to…you guessed it…monkeys! 🐒🐒🐒

More trees means more homes for monkey species that depend on them for food, safety, and epic swinging from branch to branch.

But trees have more to offer than that! Reforestation is great for so many reasons, like…

  • Cleaning air
  • Cleaning water
  • Creating tree-planting jobs and employment
  • Promoting biodiversity on land and in the water
  • Sequestering carbon dioxide from the atmosphere
  • Providing human health benefits, since we rely on healthy ecosystems, just like all other species do!

Basically, trees are fantastic, and we love them. 💚 Lots.

♻️Our Green Commitment♻️

In addition to all that, we acknowledge that we're part of an industry (publishing) that has contributed to global deforestationby cutting down thousands of trees to make paper. The publishing industry also has a historical reputation for creating environmental waste and toxic chemicals.

We want to do our part to rectify that outdated way of doing business. Not only do we print on recycled and/or sustainably sourced papers and use non-toxic vegetable inks…we also plant trees to make up for all the trees publishing has felled over the years. (You can read more about our green commitment by clicking here.)

We've partnered with One Tree Planted, an organization aimed at global reforestation, focusing on areas most in need to due to ecological disasters, climate change, human deforestation, and more.

Last year, we started donating a tree to One Tree Planted for every backer on every Kickstarter campaign we run. So far, we've planted 648 trees…and what we like to think of as the Oneshi Global Forest is growing all the time!

Thanks so much for being a part of this initiative with us, fam!💚

Now…back to the monkeys!🐒🐒🐒
