Jayel and I recently teamed up with our pal Michel Abstracto to create “The Narrow Escape of the Jolly Roger,” a ten-page comic about the pirates of Neverland encountering an eldritch horror.
Over 70 incredible comic creators got together to bring the blending of two different universes—the world of Peter Pan, called Neverland, and the horrifying world of Lovecraft's Cthulhu.
When the great Cthulhu invades Neverland, we will learn what happens to a world that is full of fairies, mermaids, pirates, and of course, Peter and the Lost Boys. With the stakes being higher than ever before, learn what will change the landscape of Neverland forever!
Audiobook Recording + A New Treat in the Works

I wanted to write to you today to tell you two exciting bits of news!
1) I'm Recording the Audiobook This Week!🎧
I've finally finished the final edit of MonkeyMaids!
It took a long time. Anyone out there who writes or creates just about anything knows that moment of intense panic that sometimes comes before the end of a project. The one where you become convinced that your project is absolutely terrible and should never see the light of day.
Well, I had that about MonkeyMaids after the Kickstarter ended.
I also went and got married, which took a lot of time and energy away from finishing the edit.
But now it's finished, and I'm soexcited to share it with you!
So I'm recording the audiobook this week. Then, I'll send it off to our audio designer, David Gueringer, for touch-ups and editing while I put the final formatting touches on the book and ebook!
Yay!
2) I Made a Monkey Maids Playlist!🎶
When I'm writing, I often put together a playlist of music that gets me in the correct mindset for the project I'm working on.
MonkeyMaids has a very specific feeling and sound—loud, chaotic, but also upbeat and kind of naively poppy. So, the playlist reflects that!

There's no better way to end a hot July like this one than by planting trees! Trees are excellent at cooling their local environments during the hot summer months.
According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency, "Trees and vegetation lower surface and air temperatures by providing shade and through evapotranspiration. Shaded surfaces, for example, may be 20–45°F cooler than the peak temperatures of unshaded materials."
They're also pros sequestering carbon to help keep things from getting hotter.
